Cantonese Steamed Soon Hock Fish Recipe

The go-to restaurant classic - get more for less by making it at home!



INGREDIENTS

1 live Soon hock (cleaned and gutted)

Ginger slices

1 stalk of cut scallion

2 tablespoon of rice wine

4 tablespoons of light soy sauce

½ teaspoon of sesame oil

White pepper powder


DIRECTIONS

1. Prepare fish for steaming by laying it on plate

2. Drizzle rice wine on fish and decorate fish with ginger strips

3. Prepare a wok for steaming, add in water and boil

4. Place the plate on fish in the wok for steaming (8-10mins), remove when done

5. Meanwhile, heat up a separate pan and add in 2 tablespoon of cooking oil to heat

6. Pour hot oil over steamed fish

7. Add light soy sauce and ginger slices in pan to heat

8. Pour hot soy sauce over steamed fish

9. Decorate fish with scallions and drizzle sesame oil and white pepper powder over dish
